We live in a topsy turvy universe, or at least the Caledonian parts of it. Legal mind altering substances have now been banned, but here in Scotland political reality is warped on a daily basis without any pharmacological assistance. If you want to warp your brain and corrode your synapses with altered states of irreality all you need to do is read the Scottish Unionist media, which is pretty much most of it.
Unlike the banned kind of mind alteration, the Unionist variety comes with the recommendation of the state and the establishment. In fact it’s compulsory to pay for the drug of BBC Great Britishism if you want a TV, or soon perhaps if you just want a computer or a smart phone. With the drug of Union Scotland will tune in turn on and drop off the edge of the planet. It’s not a high, it’s the world’s…

Auntie Annabel Goldie, fresh from smoothing down the hair and wiping the torn faces of the new Tory MSPs with a hankie damp with spit, has opined that Nicola Sturgeon thinks having a bad hair day would be a trigger for a second independence referendum. She then went on to blame the SNP for having that terribly divisive referendum in the first place. How very dare they, upsetting the cosy Unionist consensus with their democracy and public engagement and stuff.
If Nicola had a shred of decency she’d know that some questions should never be asked, because they are deeply upsetting to middle aged and elderly middle class Conservative net curtain twitchers who’ve been used to getting things their own way for all of their entitled lives. Questions like – Why should we continue to live in a nation which is run from London for the benefit of middle aged…

In an extraordinary statement, anti-corruption organisation Transparency International has told David Cameron he must do more to combat corruption in his own country.
The strong warning comes on the same day Cameron hosted a summit of international leaders focusing on combating corruption.
Transparency International openly derides the UK’s credentials on corruption, slamming UK companies for “overseas bribery“, the City of London for “laundering corrupt assets” as well as “dirty money” in the UK’s property market and “political corruption scandals” at home.
You can read the the full statement here.
The mainstream press in the UK is unlikely to report this, so please share. Thanks:

Flushed by their spectacular ground breaking victory which broke the mould of Scottish politics forever by coming such a distant second behind the SNP that you need binoculars to see the buffalo that Ruthie is sitting on, the Ruth Davidson Photo Op Party are dizzy with excitement about all the things they’re going to be able to do now that they don’t have any more power than they did before Thursday’s election. For starters they can have more photo ops, this time with a buffalo on a tank. Plans are even afoot to shatter the hopes and dreams of the independence movement with a photo of a buffalo abseiling down the side of Edinburgh castle draped in a Union flag. That’ll put those seps in their place.
Listening to the Tories and their supporters, you’d think that they’d become the governing party. This is despite the fact that they’ve got…
